Destinations : Cochin - Kumarakom - Periyar including an Overnight Backwater cruise
Day 1 : Arrive Cochin
Upon arrival, at Cochin International airport after clearing immigration and customs in the visitor's arrival hall you will be met by Anantaram Holidays airport facilitation staff and transferred to your hotel. (Hotel check in time 1200 hrs) Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : In Cochin
Following breakfast, at the hotel proceed for the city sightseeing tour of Cochin visiting - St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue and the Chinese fishing nets. Evening you will be taken to witness Kathakali dance performance. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 : Cochin - Periyar
Following leisurely breakfast, drive to Periyar (200 kms/05 hrs). The Periyar Wildlife sanctuary is one of the best maintained wildlife sanctuaries in Southern India. This gives an opportunity of spotting elephants, leopards, tigers and bison's, amongst various other species. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Afternoon enjoy boat ride on Periyar lake for wildlife viewing. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : In Periyar
Morning enjoy, leisurely breakfast. Later proceed for short jungle trek with a naturalist to view flora, fauna and avifauna. Rest of the day free to explore the surrounding villages & market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 : Periyar - Kumarakom
Following leisurely breakfast drive to Kumarakom (200 kms/05 hrs). Enroute visit to spice plantation. After the visit continue your drive. Upon arrival check in to your hotel. Rest of the afternoon free to relax and enjoy Ayurvedic massage (optional). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 : In Kumarakom
Morning enjoy your leisurely breakfast at the hotel. Day is free to relax and in house activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : Kumarakom - Houseboat
Today you will board the House boat cruise in the backwaters of Kerala with your private boat at butler. The cruise takes you through the palm fringed canals and is a unique way to discover Kerala and its country side. Evening enjoy candlelit dinner on board houseboat. Overnight on board the Houseboat.
Day 8 : Houseboat - Cochin
After breakfast, disembark the houseboat and drive to Cochin International Airport (85kms /02 hrs) in time to connect your onward flight back home.
